Created by a partnership between Experience Columbus and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, the Outdoor Trails Pass is the perfect way to enjoy hiking, biking, jogging and even paddling with friends or family. Click on “resources and maps” or use the filter function once you download to view special itineraries to plan your adventures. Check in as you go and you’ll be entered into local gift card drawings as a reward for exploring our trails!

Alum Creek State Park - Alum Creek Trail
Alum Creek State Park is a popular boating and camping destination. Visitors can spend the day jet skiing across thousands of acres of water or find a quiet cove to fish or paddle. Perfect for swimming and sunning, the beach is the largest inland beach in the park system. The park's large campground also offers a camp store, boating access, and a nature center for campers. Visitors with children can try the family-friendly mountain bike trail or the half-mile Storybook Trail.

Antrim Park - Olentangy Trail
Antrim Park and Antrim Lake is located on either side of the Olentangy Greenway Trail in Worthington. The park is a stunning 120 acres surrounding a quarried lake, great for running, walking, biking or skating. Antrim Lake is a popular place for fishing, which can be done off the banks or from the large accessible dock. The lake is stocked once a year with Rainbow Trout by the Ohio Departnment of Natural Resources.

Bald Eagles Nests - TJ Evans Trail
The Bald Eagle nest can be viewed along the T.J. Evans Trail about 1 mile northwest of Bicentennial Park. Look to the western side of the trail past Raccoon Creek and you will see the large nest in a stately Sycamore tree. The nest has been active for many years and has successfully fledged many young!
Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park - Darby Trail
Backpack along Big and Little Darby creeks, bike past prairies and hike to see America's largest mammal, the bison, roaming in their pastures. Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park also offers various trails along the water, past wetlands and through forests so you can soak in all the beauty of the great outdoors. This 4.66-acre park at 233 Civic Center Drive is a downtown destination that features a one-of-a-kind fountain, park restaurant and an eye-catching performance pavilion. Visitors to Bicentennial Park enjoy panoramic views of the Scioto Mile riverfront and the downtown skyline. Amenities: parking, close vicinity to Mile 229 Restaurant overlooking Scioto Trail and River.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park - Blacklick Creek Trail
Blacklick Woods features 643 acres of woods, fields, seasonal swamp ponds, a small prairie and a golf course. It has one of the best remaining beech-maple forests in Central Ohio along with a buttonbush swamp. The forest areas are laced with trails that wind through a swamp forest with oak and white ash along with red maple, elm, shagbark, bitternut hickory and dogwood.

Blendon Woods Metro Park - Alum Creek Trail
Blendon Woods contains spectacular stream-cut ravines with exposed ripple rock sandstone and open fields surrounded by beech-maple and oak-hickory forests. The 653-acre park is a great place to see a variety of songbirds, waterfowl and other wildlife, especially the flock of wild turkeys meandering about in search of food. The 118-acre Walden Waterfowl Refuge with its 11-acre Thoreau Lake provides a sanctuary for hundreds of birds, ducks and other wildlife.

Buckeye Lake Trail - Buckeye Lake State Park
A 4.1 - mile shoreline paved path across the top of the Buckeye Lake dam that connects the North Shore park to Leib’s Island park and offers a variety of areas for fishing and relaxation. Great for family friendly hiking and biking. Clinton-Como Park - Olentangy Trail
Clinton-Como Park (21 acres) borders the East bank of the Olentangy River. The park, which has two sections, (north and south) contains a section of the Olentangy Greenway Trail, playgrounds, basketball courts, and shelter houses. A bridge over the river at the South end of the park allows bikers and walkers to cross over the river. Parking is provided in a small lot.

The Columbus Park of Roses is one of the largest public rose gardens in the U.S. with more than 12,000 rose specimens. The garden’s extensive variety of plantings and more than one mile of paved walkways with benches make the Columbus Park of Roses an setting with year-round appeal for visitors. The 13-acre garden is an accredited arboretum and features five horticultural themes.

Community Mural Park - Roberts Pass Trail
The Community Mural Park welcomes trail travelers from the east, particularly those coming from the Columbus. The park serves as a delightful retreat, boasting a charming "mini-park" that includes various features like sixteen mural panels, each vividly depicting the visual history of the area, created by Local artist Clay Hurley. Accompanying these murals are bronze plaques, providing detailed descriptors for each piece. The park also has a stunning garden area adorned with native and pollinator plants, totaling over 2,000!

Creekside District - Big Walnut Trail
This portion of the Big Walnut trail allows Gahanna residents and guests to safely walk, jog, and/or bike into Creekside while enjoying the serenity of running water from the Big Walnut Creek. A bridge over the creek provides spectacular views of our natural resources. Local wildlife, including a pair of American Bald Eagles, can be seen regularly along this trail. Creekside Park, located adjacent to Creekside Plaza, is certified as a Level 1 Arboretum with over 25 labeled tree and shrub species. Creekside Plaza offers access numerous restaraunts and businesses. Amenities: restrooms, arboretum, and blueway trail access.
Genoa Park - Scioto Trail
Genoa Park is located on the western bank of the Scioto River between Rich Street and Broad Street. The park is named after the Italian city of Genoa – one of Columbus’ ten international sister cities and the birthplace of city’s namesake Christopher Columbus. Amenities: amphitheater and greenway trail access.
Glacier Ridge Metro Park
Glacier Ridge was named for the end moraine or glacial debris left behind when the glaciers retreated some 12,000 to 17,000 years ago. Much of the 1,037-acre park was once covered with farmland. Visitors can traverse a boardwalk through the Honda Wetlands Area or climb a 25-foot observation tower to see waterfowl and other animals.

Heart of Ohio Trailhead Centerburg - Ohio to Erie Trail
The primary trailhead within Centerburg is located adjacent to the parking lot of Kolacheez Coffee Bar and Pizza Burg just off Hartford Avenue. The amenities include benches, a Fixit station, bicycle parking, donation box, and a trail sign. There is also a steel fabricated selfie frame which highlights Centerburg as the midpoint of the Ohio to Erie Trail, an ideal photo opportunity.

Heritage Park, located at 60 N. Cleveland Avenue, is home to the Everal Barn and Homestead, has almost one full mile of internal trail, three sports fields, a playground and the 1,920 square foot Antrim Shelter, with tables, grills, a fireplace and capacity for 80 people.

Kokosing Gap Trail in Mount Vernon - Kokosing Gap Trail
The Kokosing Gap Trail 0-6-0 steam locomotive was built in 1940 by the American Locomotive Company of Schenectady, New York. Number 63 was moved to Gambier from Kentucky in April 2000 to join the restored Chesapeake & Ohio Caboose, #90776, which was built in 1924. These two locomotives are on display next to the Kokosing Gap trail. Amenities: parking, water fountains, bicycle fixit stations, restrooms, and benches located every 1/2 miles along the trail.

Williams mural was commissioned in 2017 by the Summer Jam West arts organization. It can be seen from the trail by looking north at the structures 200 feet east of where the trail crosses N. Sylvan Ave.

The Slingshot - Scioto Trail
The 20 ft tall, 12 ft wide slingshot is a sculpture from Andrew Lundberg, owner of Lundberg Industrials, a local industrial art designer. Andrew created it as a "visual reminder of the momentum building between Franklinton and Columbus." It even features an engraving of 1797 on the front, the year Franklinton was settled.
The Wilma H. Schiermeier Olentangy River Wetland Research Park - Olentangy Trail
A long-term, large-scale aquatic research facility located along the northern edge of The Ohio State University’s Columbus campus. The grounds are open to the public daily from dawn to dusk. The Park can be viewed from the Sandefur Observation Pavilion with additional viewing opportunities of natural areas along the Olentangy Greenways Trail and paved paths throughout the site.

Walnut Woods features 1,455 acres of woodlands and fields, bordered by Walnut Creek to the north. The Tall Pines Area features dramatic stands of pines and sweetgum trees, and the Buckeye Area has long rows of old nursery trees such as serviceberry, crab apple and red maples. The park also features restored wetlands and vernal pools.
Whitehall Community Park - Big Walnut Trail
The paved loop trail in Whitehall Community Park allows visitors to explore restored lowland woods, streamside access, and beautiful wildflower meadows. Visit this hidden gem tucked into the lower level of Whitehall Community Park. (Please note, the road access to the lower level is closed when icy and in high rainfall).
